Bilateral reduction mammoplasty also known as breast reduction surgery can significantly reduce back, neck and shoulder pain. Some patients in Boston even complain of rashes under their breasts or bra strap grooving.
Breast reduction surgery removes excess fat, breast tissue and skin to achieve breast size which is more in proportion to the rest of your body. Dr Halperin cares greatly for her patients and understands how difficult it can be to live with breasts that are too large for your frame.
Am I a Good Candidate for Breast Reduction Surgery?
Breast reduction can often be covered by your health insurance plan. Reduction can be performed on anyone regardless of age however Dr. Halperin usually recommends waiting until breast development has ceased.
If your breasts are too large for your frame, you have back, neck or shoulder pain caused by the weight of your breasts or if you are self conscious about the appearance of your breasts, contact us for more information about breast reduction surgery.
Male Breast Reduction
Gynecomastia (the medical term for enlarged male breasts) can be caused by a multitude of factors. Some men in Boston have had enlarged breasts since puberty with no known cause. Other patients notice an increase in breast size with certain medications or steroid use. Dr. Halperin uses a combination of liposuction and direct excision to reduce the size of the male breast. Some patients may need a small amount of skin removed as well. This can help restore the masculine appearance of your chest.
Is male breast reduction right for me?
If you are a male in reasonably good health who has been bothered by your large breast size, you may be a good candidate for male breast reduction. Dr. Halperin can perform this outpatient procedure in our private Boston area ambulatory surgical center.
